Switzerland
 |
Switzerland has
overwhelming natural beauty. It is a country of clear blue lakes, snow-capped peaks and
rugged Alpine Mountains. Switzerland is made up of 60% mountains, with the rest being
meadows and pastures, forests and agricultural land.
It is located in the center of Europe. With regard to political
boundaries, Switzerland is divided into twenty-three cantons and three
sub-cantons.
Switzerland's climate varies greatly from one
region to another. Sunshine is typical weather for summer, while one can expect rain
during spring and autumn. Winter is, of course, famous for the heavy snowfalls, which make
Switzerland ideal for skiing.

There are three federal languages, namely
German, French and Italian. There is also another language, namely Rhaeto-Romance
or Romanisch. It is an official national (not federal)
language. English has a lower priority than the other languages.Switzerland's
Alpine terrain is ideal for a wide variety of sports and activities
especially hiking and skiing. There are many lakes in Switzerland, making
water sports very popular among tourists as well as locals. |

Zurich
Zurich is one of the leading financial centers of
the world. It is also the most populous city in Switzerland, but despite
this, Zurich is a surprisingly modest, small-scale city. It has only
three high-rise buildings and there are several Gothic guildhalls.
Zurich is, of course, known for its many banks, but
it also has a strong cultural side with several art galleries and museums around every
corner.
If visitors want to do some serious shopping, the shops in
Bahnhofstrasse are ideal.
